The lounge at the Blue Lagoon.
Some of the sites on the
southwest corner of the Reykenes peninsula.
This area is basically just one big lava field surrounded by volcanoes.
Cod drying on the site of the
Road in the Reykenes.
Bodies on one side of the road, heads on the other.
The smell was just unbelievable.
Mountain climbing in Glymur. Chilly...and windy..but what a view.
Freezing in the Hot Tubs....
Christmas dinner in Icelandic tradition.
Jesse couldn't be with us...so we immortalized him on the mountain top
The view of the fiord from the Hotel
Sammy got tired of walking so we needed a back-up plan.
Some Aurora photos I took in Geysir.
Snowmobiling in a volcano crater on a glacier.
Never again will I refer to anywhere in the US as being "in the middle of
nowhere."
We were miles from civilization...below zero, crevasses, and 50 mph winds...
Just surreal.
More aurora photos from Grindavik
If you look closely...this band of green runs through
the constellation Orion. The larger image is even more profound.
The only Red Aurora we saw on our trip.
We're still hunting for the more elusive blue ones.
Heading for the airport in Keflavik and home to the USA!
