The Board of Selectmen acts as the Town’s Chief Executive
Body responsible for the general welfare of the Community. Specific
powers and responsibilities of the Board of Selectmen are set forth
in Chapter 559 of the Acts of
1953 which is better known as the Town Manager Act and the General
Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The primary responsibility of the Board of Selectmen is to appoint
and oversee the work of the Town
Manager. Annually the Board of Selectmen files with the citizens
of Shrewsbury an Annual Report.
The Office of the Board is open Monday through Friday except for
legal holidays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Residents and visitors requiring
the services of the Board of Selectmen may make contact
via phone, mail, fax or email.
