2004 marked the 12th year of SELCO’s Share the Warmth program. Each year
we ask the community to support this program that assists needy
Shrewsbury residents with funding to maintain electric service for
heat, light and hot water through the cold winter months. Each year
the community responds kindly. A total of $8,076 was raised last
year that helped 122 families in Shrewsbury.
“Residents have been very generous through the years in donating
money to this program,” said Thomas Josie, general manager
of SELCO. “We appreciate and thank them for their support
to help neighbors who may have difficulty affording basic services.”
SELCO asks residents to contribute to Share the Warmth by using
a donation envelope that is included in November bills. Residents
may also bring donations to the SELCO main office in the Town
Hall at 100 Maple Avenue weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
